We booked the King Studio for a weekend getaway. What they don’t tell you at the time of booking is that these specific rooms face an extremely busy and noisey club.
I filled in the comment section at the time of checkout noting my preference to not have a room facing the club. Unfortunately, an external company handles the online reservations and my comments never reached the hotel. The night we arrived I was informed our room would be facing the club. I was pretty upset because I read other traveler reviews that the club noise was bad. However, the hotel was totally booked so we had no choice.
The club noise went until 3:30am. It was so loud that even with earplugs we couldn’t block it out. This was unfortunate, because we had a ski course the next day and got almost no sleep.
To the hotel credit, the staff helped us find a quieter room for the next night. They did everything they could to make us feel appreciated, and even waived our parking fee due to the horrible first night. I cannot say enough nice things about the staff. Had it not been for them my review would have been much more negative.
The rooms are also really nice! They are clean, modern, and very comfortable. They also feature a boot dryer which I think should be a standard at every hotel in Whistler!
Overall, if you get a room that doesn’t face the club, you are going to love this hotel. If you end up in a room that does face the club, you will be so tired the next day that it will be hard to appreciate anything.
