I recommend staying here, however, please be sure to request a room with windows that do NOT face the village courtyard. People drinking at the bars in the village walk back to their homes/hotels quite loudly, keeping us up from 2-4 pm on the weekend nights. It would have been nice if the hotel warned guests of the noisy rooms and/or offered cheaper rates for those rooms. Also, the hotel offers free wifi but it never worked. This was disappointing. Otherwise, the staff was friendly/helpful and the hotel rooms were nice.

Let’s start with the good: Location! This hotel is situated in the heart of the Village and only few walking minutes away from the Gondola and all the restaurants and shops are right there were the hotel is.
The hotel itself is average. Most ski resort hotels are a bit more rundown then their other locations and this hotel was no exception. We stayed at the 3rd floor which has an odd configuration: You can’t get to it from the main lobby elevator. Instead you have to go out, get on another elevator, ride it to 4th floor, drag your luggage across the length of the hallway and get into another elevator and ride down to 3rd.
There is no restaurant or room service on the property which was a bit confusing since one of their advertisements was “kids eat free”. Turns out they give you a voucher to one of the local restaurants.
Room quality was relatively good and it was very clean and well maintained. We got the room with the Murphy bed and it had washer/dryer, coffer maker, stove and dishwasher with dishes and cooking ware.
The staff were hit an miss. When we arrived late at night, the gentleman was rather dismissive and not very attentive. At one point replying to “we are HH gold members” with “so what”? The ladies who work the day shift were significantly more polite and helpful.
Other reviewers mentioned noise level and this is to be expected if you are smack in middle of the action. So yes, I did wake up once or twice by loud young people leaving the bars and restaurants. But that’s part of being in the heart of action and is in no way a fault of the hotel.

It’s by no means a luxury hotel but rates are very reasonable considering the great location and friendly, efficient service. The rooms are comfortable and higher floors even give you some view of the ski slopes. There are plenty of restaurants and bars nearby and the ski lifts are not too far away.

Parking is $15 per day, less than half of what i paid at Fairmont, from where I moved to get more bang for my buck.

Review of Carleton Lodge, Whistler

We stayed 5 days in unit 307 facing the plaza. Great location right next to the two main lifts. The unit itself was outfitted with everything we needed, dishwasher detergent and soap, soap, shampoo, even laundry detergent (no dryer sheets though) for washer and dryer. We had enough dishes, pots and pans. The room was cleaned every 3 days, but if you needed something refreshed like coffee or shampoo you just had to call down.
There were 2 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms (one with a tub), one room with kings size bed and one room with 2 single beds. Living room had a pullout sofa bed. My daughter said it was uncomfortable so she slept on the sofa without pulling it out. Each room had a TV.
The bathrooms were newly updated and very nice. The shower had a rain shower as well.
The only downside- the noise from outside. The windows do not help keep noise out, and it gets loud late into the night with the surrounding bars.

The staff were extremely friendly, helpful and ready to assist. Our room was quiet, overlooking the pool & BBQ area, so good for us. Lovely lake walks at the doorstep and a quieter shopping area at creekside. Good spot.
