We booked into a 2 bedroom suite this past weekend for our group of 6. The two bed, two bath configuration with kitchen and open living/dining room was a great lay out. The large outdoor patio with table and two chairs was also very nice. The beds were extremely comfortable. I’d say they were the best beds I’ve had in a hotel in recent memory. We faced the trees at the rear and found it very quiet and peaceful though there are several rooms overlooking the pool/hot tub area which I’d predict could be very loud. The outdoor pool was large and the kids in our groups used it 3 times in 24 hours so obviously found it fun – and not very busy. I also thought the outdoor bbq area was neat and the easy access to the mountain was nice for an afternoon hike this fall AND would be perfect for ski in/out in winter. Great gym (also always empty during our stay) and plenty of underground parking. I found every staff member at all levels of the hotel very friendly and professional. Negatives? A bit far and hilly to walk to the village so plan to drive there. And, many of the interior spaces seem a bit tired. It was all clean and tidy but just not very splashy – at $400/night I expected a bit fancier. The included breakfast was adequate but mostly focused on low cost breakfast items like oatmeal, bread and waffles. No meat options, milk had to be requested and fruit was cut up oranges and grapefruit. So, not terribly inspiring and half our group skipped it entirely on the second morning. I’d stay again in winter but in summer I’d want to be closer to the village. Overall a good hotel worth staying in if you aren’t someone who needs a super fancy Whistler vaycay.
