Nita Lake Lodge

We stayed at Nita Lake for a week long skiing break. Our room was a one bedroom suite with a non-lake view. First piece of advice would be to pay the extra for a lake view room as whilst you do get a mountain view, primarily it is a residential view. The room however was lovely. A genuine first rate standard which was great to come back to after a day’s skiing. It has a spacious seating area as well as a hall type area which contains a wardrobe as well as a very small kitchen type set up. This includes a sink, small fridge, basic utensils and kettle/toaster/microwave/cafetière. This proves really handy for some basic breakfasts and drinks, although it is not sufficient to consider anything more. The bathroom was stunning however and includes heated natural stone floor, a large shower enclosure, a very large bath and a separate toilet. Definitely the highlight of the room. The bedroom is a good size, but a point of note is that it is not actually a separate bedroom and is a walk through from the lounge area. The bed was really comfy, but it is low for those that consider those issues. All the rooms have a spacious balcony area with table and chairs.
Wifi comes included free of charge, but it is somewhat intermittent and the speeds will not allow any sort of streaming and face timing etc was a bit hit and miss. There are a couple of cupboards for clothes but there are no drawers in the room which is a bit of a downside.
There is also lots of literature in the room about the local area, what to do and where to eat etc.
The only downside to the room during our stay was the standard of the daily housekeeping. Quite often the hoovering wasn’t done and the bathroom sink and countertops were not cleaned. A minor issue granted and whilst it did not affect our stay in anyway I would expect better from a hotel of this standard.

With regards to other facilities there is a casual bar area downstairs which serves a limited range of food and snacks. The staff are always very helpful and friendly and a nice place for a drink. There is a large tv in the barwhich also shows sports etc. Aura, the hotel restaurant is also next to the bar. We didn’t eat in here other than a bit of breakfast so can’t comment on the evening food. It’s nice inside however and not pretentious or over priced. There is a cafe on site called fix and this serves sandwiches and snacks until around 4.30 pm. It’s a good size and gives a good option for lunch and a quick breakfast.

There are a couple of outdoor hot tubs and robes provided in the rooms to venture down. There is a spa onsite with a good range of treatments at a reasonable price. Nice spa with a lovely lounge to relax in before or after treatments. Definitely recommend the Swedish massage!

The biggest negative for me during the stay was the hotel gym. Whilst the description does say that it is shared with a local fitness company I was surprised at the quality of the gym in comparison to the rest of the hotel and other hotels of a similar standard. It is small and the quality of the equipment is really poor and old. I tried to use the gym twice and on both occasions there was a trainer in there doing some sort of class for three people. Given the size of the place this meant that I couldn’t get on the majority of things and was limited to a small area of the gym. On both occasions I walked out after a short amount of time.

There are laundry facilities down on the car park level with both washers and dryers. A wash is 2.50 and dryer 2 dollars. It takes dollar coins and quarters only and sells detergent too at reception. Car parking is underground at the hotel.

From a skiing perspective Nita lake is a good ten minute walk to creek side where the gondola is located. However, on the hour and every half hour the hotel put a minibus service on that drops u at creek side and a couple of minutes from the gondola. The hotel also provide you with a ski locker in a secure room at creek side so there is no need to lug your skis and boots back to the hotel daily. You can also purchase lift passes etc at creek side. Skis are not allowed in the room but the hotel do provide a storage area downstairs near to reception for this.

Creekside has a small centre which contains a good sized supermarket, ski shop including rentals and other little shops, bank etc. creekbread restaurant is also well worth a visit for a good value pizza.

The minibus mentioned continues from creek side up to whistler village and then back again in a loop. It does drop at blackcomb too during the daytime. Of an evening it will also drop at the rim rock cafe, which is a nice restaurant just up the road from creekside. The bus is always punctual and the drivers friendly. It provides a really convenient aspect to the hotel being that little bit further out.

The setting of Nita lake is stunning, particularly out the back of the hotel and we found it absolutely lovely being able to return here after a days skiing or a trip to whistler village area which is about 10 minute drive away. It is incredibly peaceful and a lovely hotel to relax in. There were a few little bits and pieces as I’ve mentioned that could be improved upon but overall we loved the location being a Little outside whistler village and would definitely return here and recommend it to others.

Four Seasons Hotel Whistler

Had a wonderful ski vacation at the Four Seasons.

Fitted our ski boots and equipment in the evening after check in at the onsite ski shop at the lower level. A short walk to the Blackcomb. Convenient shuttle to the village. Nice spa with a heated outdoor pool and tasty food at the Sidecut. The hot chocolates, s’mores, and apple kabobs in the afternoon were a nice touch. Had a unbeatable magical winter vacation at Whistler!

We are just finishing up our 10 night stay at the Four Seasons. From the moment we arrived we were treated like royalty. The hotel itself is beautifully appointed, but it’s the staff who have made our stay even more special. Everyone from the porters to the reception, concierge and restaurant staff are brilliant! The clincher for us though was the fabulous ski concierge service. Being able to leave our skis, boots and helmets at the base of the mountain was fabulous… and the staff help you with your boots and gear… plus there’s got chocolate and cookies!

Everything about Whistler is beautiful. The skiing is brilliant, but there’s plenty to do for non-skiers too. The hotel is a short walk from the upper village and there’s a regular hotel shuttle that runs into the lower village.

The buffet breakfast was delicious and we’ll definitely miss having eggs and omelettes made to order each morning. We’re also going to miss the heated outdoor pool and hot tubs.. and the day spa!

One of our boys was ill on the 2nd night of our stay and we had to make a trip to hospital in an ambulance. Everything ended up being ok, but the hotel staff went out of their way to ensure he was comfortable. We really could’ve have asked for more from the hotel or the staff.

Wonderful in every way! Especially fun to be in the hot tub as the snow was coming down. Staff wee wonderfully pleasant and helfpful. Great to have a grocery store so close by, along with all the other positives of being at the base of Creekside. We will be back again.

Stayed with another couple (friends) in an apartment which comprised 2 large (king bed) en-suite bedrooms, a well appointed kitchen & living area. Property has great facilities; gym, jacuzzis etc, it’s very well kept, clean and there’s a concierge on the desk from early until late. If travelling with kids it would be great for them too. Right next to the Blackholm gondola, can’t get more ski-in ski-out, you get to jump the morning queue as a resident at First Tracks too! There’s a cracking little sushi bar 5min walk, does take away. Highly recommend if you don’t mind paying a bit more to get a lot more in terms of luxury.

Fairmont Chateau Whistler

We stayed here for Christmas and WOW was it special. The hotel itself is gorgeous and so beautifully decorated. What was most memorable is the exquisite service. Truly five star. I did not encounter a single employee who let the hotel down. Everyone went above and beyond. From the doormen, to concierge, to waiters, to spa to ski valet employees. As it was Christmas, every morning the housemaids put a special treat in the room ie mince pies, chocolate. On Christmas Day everyone got there own stocking. Very cute personal touches.

This is magical place. I am not a resident. Booked for the Gala Christmas Dinner for 6 from Australia. Arrived at the beautiful hotel and my booking proceeded very smoothly . Seated in a beautifully decorated function room and entertained by Tony Burton and orchestra….Frank Sinatra Michael Buble etc…terrific music and entertainment.
The Buffett was magnificent. Beyond compare exquisite beautiful and plentiful…quite stunning. Served by Alexander and Jessica who were terrific.

This was a magical night for my family which I will never forget
Thank you Fairmont

Beautiful Resort . Staff was lovely . For avid skiers I would opt for a ski in/out resort . Getting on to the mountain was a a bit of a hassle and a process. The spa was wonderful and the food was great at Sidecut ( except it was the only restaurant, they do not allow children at the Tapas bar and the menu at that bar was limited ) . Perhaps it is a better experience in the summer when you don’t have to schlep down to the ski concierge with kids and then back in a crowded shuttle with gear to ski school .

We decided to stay here because we read about the ski concierge and the service they provided. It was wonderful, not issues, we got fitted in the hotel and our equipment was always ready to go at the base and we only had to carry our equipment for about 1 minute to the lift.

First Tracks Lodge

First Tracks Lodge is located in the skiing village, cool location for sports, we just live there for one night, will try again for a longer time.
the lodge is well furnitured, good to keep confidential, and really nice beds and suites.

Great location for the family. Just outside of the creek side gondola (for those coming for the skiing) and across from the local market, you can’t beat the location. easy in and out from the main highway and great heated underground parking. Rooms were very tidy, clean, and modern enough. Anything you were missing, the hotel service and housekeeping was prompt to resolve.

Fairmont Chateau Whistler

Such a unique property, coupled with exceptional customer service. Located right on the base of Blackcomb it is just so easy to ski in and ski out. Hot chocoates await you at the end of a ski day, followed by warm apple cider. Lots of little extra treats and touches which make it truly special. We are a family of 4 (2 teenage children) and the hotel was perfect for us. We got interconnecting room…very comfortable for a week.

Spent 5 nights at the Fairmont over Christmas. A family of 5 with 3 teenagers (17,16,14). Cannot say enough about the entire experience. The most comfortable, welcoming, warm and engaging hotel. The staff is beyond friendly and willing to do anything to please. Prior to our visit Ian Inniss (concierge) was fantastic working to arrange everything from ski passes /rentals, dinner reservations, snow mobiling and bob sledding. Every reservation was spot on.
The rooms were comfortable, the room service excellent. The ambiance at Christmas was magic. Lots of festive touches. Right down to the stockings outside our door Christmas morning.
The 5 nights flew! Do not stay anywhere else in Whistler – value for money, amenities and service are simply fantastic.

Hotel staff were very friendly. They gave us an upgraded room and parking, that was a nice surprise. We brought our dog and they have there whole west wing with animal friendly rooms. The location was ideal, not right in the thick of things but a stones throw away. it was well worth what we paid.

Stayed 2 nights. Hotel is just beside the village, walking distance 5min only. Food/grocery/shopping can be all found in the village. Hotel is clean. Room is very clean, wifi free and strong, staff is friendly and all smiley. Love the stay!

Westin Hotel Whistler

My family and I stayed at the West Whistler three times in the past ten years. We’ve tried other resorts in Whistler-Blackcomb, yet this is our favorite. Staying at the Westin Whistler is a real treat. It’s a big lodge, yet the mountain décor makes it feel warm and cozy. The service is efficient and friendly. The rooms are stylish and the large windows bring in lots of natural light. The beds/pillows are comfy for a restful night sleep. In the restaurant, there’s a nice selection of food for the morning buffet. Swimming in the indoor/outdoor pool through the gateway to the crisp mountain air makes you feel like a kid again. Best of all – just steps away from the gondola is the Westin ski valet. VIP treatment slope side.
